PRESS RELEASE: Nevada Senate Republican Caucus Endorses Assemblyman Erv Nelson

Henderson, NV – The Nevada Senate Republican Caucus today announced its endorsement of Assemblyman Erv Nelson for Senate District 6.

“I have been very impressed with Assemblyman Nelson’s work as a legislator,” stated Senator Majority Leader Michael Roberson. “He demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the issues facing Nevada and worked diligently to provide solutions. I am confident Assemblyman Nelson will continue to deliver results for all Nevadans.”

Assemblyman Nelson served as Vice Chair of the Assembly Judiciary Committee in the 2015 legislative session. He also served as a member of the Assembly Taxation and Commerce and Labor committees. Currently, Nelson serves as Chair of the Interim Committee on Energy, and was appointed by the Legislative Commission to represent Nevada as a member of the Uniform Law Commission. In addition to his legislative work, Nelson is a partner at Durham, Jones & Pinegar where he specializes in real estate and business law.

“Assemblyman Nelson understands the importance of education and the need to foster an environment where businesses can grow and create jobs – helping to drive Nevada’s economy forward. We need education-oriented, business-minded leaders in Nevada,” stated Southern Nevada Campaign Chair Senator Becky Harris. “Assemblyman Nelson will be an excellent addition to the Nevada State Senate. Nelson has practiced law in Nevada for over 30 years. He graduated with honors from the BYU law school, where he served on the Law Review. He has been active in the Boy Scouts of America in southern Nevada as a scout and a leader.

Nelson lives in Las Vegas with his wife and children.
